Home Insurance back in the UK

My home and contents policy back home allows me to leave the house empty for 30 days - common enough I guess. The Insurers are being a bit vague with me about the extra charges, and possible exclusions from the cover, if I leave it empty to come to Cyprus for 3 months or so. I get the feeling they don't want to insure this risk. Googling other potential insurers is not proving as helpful as I thought! Would appreciate any suggestions from others who may have resolved this with a specialist insurer. tia
Cheers

Hi HappyCamper
Perhaps if one of your neighbours could check the property on a weekly basis to ensure all was OK, it would be acceptable to one of the insurance companies.
Or maybe other members have managed to resolve this problem.
Regards,

Thanks Nigel
I am lucky I have v good neighbours - but I would not want to ask them take on responsibility for my house and liability for my insurance cover. Asking a bit too much I think.
Checking each week was what my Insurers wanted (amongst other things). My option for that is to pay my local estate agents/letting agency to check each week (we are in a small community here with independent estate agents, that is easily arranged).
But my insurers want me to do daft things (turn the water off - when I want to leave the ch on for example) and they want to limit the cover etc. So I hope someone knows a more accommodating insurer who specialises in this.
Hopefully! I can not be unique, that's for sure.
