We are a complex of 5 houses with a swimming but are having difficulty in obtaining public liability insurance for our pool and the communal areas only. I have contacted several insurance companies who are only interested in a block insurance which would include the communal areas.the problem is that the 5 residents have individual insurance with different companies.Does anyone know of any companies who would cover our insurance needs and is a requirement by law to have public liability insurance.
Many thanks,
Bob Kidger

Hi Bob

I'm not surprised you Management Committee is having problems getting public liability insurance. The jointly-owned building must be insured in its entirety with a single insurance company.

Please refer to the paper Everything you would like to know about the insurance of jointly-owned buildings.

There's a company in Limassol that can arrange insurance (including public liability) - 3D Global. Contact Andrew Stott.

(The company is fully regulated).

Regards,
