Hello Stuart and welcome to the forum,
I suggest that you contact Louise directly through her website at
http://www.cyprusproperty-lawyer.co.uk/ or by phone on 00357 25373734
Firstly, you should look through your Contract of Sale to check that you haven't failed to meet any of your obligations contained therein. Many people try to withhold money until certain issues have been resolved, but unless your contract allows you to do this, you could find yourself in breach.
If you used a lawyer who was introduced to you by the vendor, then almost certainly your contract will be weighed in favour of the vendor. And although you may consider your contract to be unfair, it is a legal document and you are legally obliged to fulfil your side of the deal even (in the same way that the developer is obliged to keep to his side of the bargain).
Your developer cannot cancel your contract of sale - in order to do so he needs to get your agreement and signature. But having said that, if you used your developer's 'pet' lawyer and you gave him/her power of attorney to act on your behalf, then there is a possibility that that lawyer may have withdrawn your contract from the Land Registry (assuming they lodged it there in the first place).
I also suggest that you read the article "Property awarded to couple after legal battle" that you'll find at
http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers. ... e/id=00691
and also the article written by Louise "Top 10 tips on what to do on discovering problems with your new property" that you'll find at
http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers. ... y/id=00439 which also contains some relevant advice and information
As suggested earlier, you need to contact Louise without delay.
Regards,
