An illegal property transfer occured in Cyprus in 1999, I have recently just found out about it, are there statute of limitations in prosecuting this crime?

Dear Nigel the only exception to the statutes, seems to be that if a defendant has been away from Cyprus, and the statute does not apply. Im overseas and haven't been to Cyprus in a very long time. Do you think i could be exempt? This is truly a crime, of what they have done, and the police need to get involved...Is there anyone lawyer or officer of the court i could get in touch with that can clarify the situation and course of action? thanks

Hi Clyde
I suggest you get in touch with a lawyer to clarify the situation. The British High Commission publishes a list of English speaking lawyer who should be able to help -
List of Lawyers in the Republic of Cyprus.
