Hi Nigel

In the latest update you mention
"In some cases applicants are also required to sign a declaration/acknowledgement that their application will be activated when a Title Deed has been issued)."

When is this form needed, is there any guidance ?

Also when submitting the papers to the Land Registry will they accept a copy of the contract or must it be the original? Our original is still in the UK , so will be next year before we can do anything. So people seem to have gt away with a copy others not.

As always your help & advice is invaluable

Hi nlp

If the Land Registry staff require you to complete a declaration/acknowledgement form, they will give you a copy to sign and date.

As for the contract of sale, the LR does not need it:

The ‘Registered Contract of Sale No’ required in answer to question ‘A-2 Contract of Sale’ on the application for the transfer of property refers to the number written on the receipt provided by the Land Registry when the contract of sale was deposited at their office. (Some have found the Land Registry staff very helpful in tracking down this number from the contract of sale.)

You should take original documents - the staff will make copies where needed.
