Dear Nigel,
We have a Swiss franc mortgage with the bank of Cyprus, seemed like a good idea at the time. Please send us a list of organisations who are helping clients to arrive at some sort of agreement. Is it true that the time limit has been extended to the 31/12/2014 for claims to be lodged?
Many Thanks for your help.

Hi good2bhere

The government has extended the time limit for claims to be lodged until 31st December 2014.

And I have just sent you an email with the names and contact details of the groups.

Regards,

We are in negotiations with Alpha Bank to change the Swiss Franc to Euro mortgage, they have agreed, but their calculation is based on the currenty Swiss Franc exchange to Euro.

This calculation results in a mortgage of 100.000Euro now by their calulation will now become 195.000Euro!!!!

If they would just be sensible we could work it out to pay off and be mortgage free, which would be good for the bank and us..............they are so short sighted..

Any suggestions most welcomed.

Hi Ladie Golfer

I have sent you a list of the various groups that have been set up to help those with CHF loans. As these will have more negotiating power than an individual, you may get a better result.

Hi Nigel,
Can you send me that list too please.
Also do you know what the procedure would be for Alpha Bank to recover money from outside EU?
Thanks Nigel.
JJ

Ps I'm so glad I found this forum. It's hard going it alone.
