Title Deeds application process

Good morning Nigel,
Once again may I ask your opinion/advice. The developer of our apartment complex has, finally, responded to my request for an update of the title deed process; though was accompanied by a demand for IMP.
I quote " We are in the procedure of issuing the Final Approval Certificate for the building by taking advantage of the new planning law."

My question is this: In November of 2011 we were told that they had issued a "Notification of Intent".
Has realistic progress, or any at all, been made in the intervening 20 months and if so are far away are we from actually obtaining our deeds?
Many thanks.

Good morning June,

It sounds as if your developer is using the Town Planning Amnesty.

The first stage was to submit a Statement of Intent (which he did in 2011).

Now he has submitted a full application and is waiting on the authorities.

Assuming the authorities approve your developer's amnesty application, a Certificate of Approval will be issued followed by a Title Deed.

I expect you will still have a year or two to wait.

Regards,

Okay, thank you. Maybe we can see a little light after 12 years. :-)

Hello Terry

It's gone very quiet - someone living at the eastern end of the island contacted me a couple of months ago, but that's about it.
