Find out if land/property owned in cyprus?

Wonder if anyone can point me in right direction?

My wifes Granddad who is 98 years old has been told by family that he has land in Cyprus. He was aware that he may have had land left to him by his father but as he has been in UK since 1957 he has never taken any steps to find out.

He would now like to know how to go about finding out if he does have land/property in his name in Cyprus .

Given that he does not know address's etc is there anyway he can find out by giving his name/dob etc ?

Any Help in who we can contact would be appreciated.

Regards

Kemal

Hello Kemal and welcome to the forum.

I guess from your name that your grandfather is a Turkish Cypriot? If the land is in the south of the island, I believe there is a Custodian of Turkish Cypriot properties appointed by the Interior Ministry. I'm not familiar with the organisation and I think it's best that you check with the Cyprus High Commission in London at 13 St James's Square, London, SW1Y 4LB, United Kingdom - Phone:+44 20 7321 4100. They should be able to advise you on how to proceed.

Finding the land and any property owned by your grandfather may prove difficult (regardless of where it is located) as he would have inherited a share of the land from your great grandfather together along with your great-uncles and great-aunts.
