Post by Molly »

Hi Nigel

If we dont pay the above now, we will be eligible after we obtain our Title Deeds?

Hi Molly,

You shouldn't be paying Immovable Property Tax at the the moment - unless the developer can provide you with the necessary proff and receipts (see http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers. ... s/id=00517 )

Once you get the Title Deeds to the property, you may then be liable for the annual Immovable Property Tax. HOWEVER, if the assessed 1980 value of your house is less than € 170,860, then you will be exempt. (The 1980 value of the property is shown on the Title Deed).

I think it extremely unlikely that the 1980 value of your house will exceed the € 170,860 threshold - unless you have a 20 bedroom mansion in Nicosia!
