The bank have sent us a draft document (a waiver )and have asked us to complete it with my details.
it says Please note that signatures must be certified by a certifying officer.

therefore my question is - WHO CAN CERTIFY OUR SIGNING THE DOCUMENT?

CAN IT BE ANY LAYWER / SOLICITOR IN THE UK ?
OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE CYPRUSS EMBASSY ONLY?

The other question is - we are based in Cannock - Staffordshire - where is the closest person or embassy to us?
Obviusley I would prefer a solicitor as there are many local to me -

but can anyone help me understand whom I need to go to please?

Hi Thelma

You'll need to speak with the nearest Cyprus Government office to yourself. I suggest you contact the Cyprus High Commission in London - see http://www.mfa.gov.cy/mfa/highcom/londo ... enDocument

A public notary can do this by method of Apostile (or something of that description). You don't have to go to an Embassy.

Here is what the BoC asked of one of our clients in the UK.

Send the documents to you via email which you must print and take to one of the following bodies to be signed
-any European Embassy
-at a Notary Public
using the Apostile procedure.

Good luck.
