No appllicants for committee

Post by bshatttock »

Hi Nigel
the present committee are resigning and we are unable to find anyone willing to form a new committee. What is the situation ? I heard that the Land registry would form a committee on our behalf is that correct, how does that work ? Regards Barry

Hi Barry

I've moved your question to the 'Communal Property Management' section.

The situation is in a state of flux. If you check out the Department of Lands and Surveys ‘Citizens Charter’, you see how it's possible to ask the Land Registry to manage the complex on behalf of the owners.

The DLS page is in Greek, but if you check out Appointment of Management Committee using the Google Chrome browser, you can translate it to English - and you'll find a link to the application forms, etc.

But there's a draft law that's currently being discussed that will replace the current law relating to jointly-owned buildings. This draft law establishes a new authority that relieves the Land Registry of managing jointly-owned buildings.

I guess you should get your application in a.s.a.p. before the law changes.
