Passports

Post by WHEELER »

I have been looking at everyone's questions and comments on here for some time now which I have found very informative but have now got a question of my own. My husband and I will be going back to Cyprus in the Autumn to finally buy a house. We have been looking for the last 3 years (30 houses later) and have finally decided on the area we would like to live in. My question is if we live full time in Cyprus but still have a UK address do you have to have your passport changed to your Cyprus address or can you keep the UK address on it ?

Hello Doreen and welcome to the forum.

My wife and I have been living in Cyprus for 12 years - and we also have a holiday home in the UK.

You don't have to do anything with your passport - but you can change the emergency contact on the inside of the back cover. You can do this yourself, no need for anything formal.

When you come to renew your passports, that's straightforward. Just complete the forms, get photographs taken and then courier everything to Ireland.
