Re: Will I pay VAT when selling multiple properties
Hi espghia Unless you bought the house and the land in the name of a company, you shouldn't have to pay any VAT - as resales are not subject to VAT. However, friends of mine sold a large plot of land ant the Ta Department considered it was a company sale, despite the fact they bought it jointly in t...

Re: Obligations for transparency of a Propert Management Company
Hi Irvin and welcome to the forum. As it's a legal requirement for communal buildings comprising four or more units to have a Management Committee, I urge you and other owners to set one up a.s.a.p. Information on how to go about this + the MCs & owners rights and obligations may be found in the law...

Re: Zone C3 Agricutural Land
Hi David
There isn't a letter 'C' in the Greek language - where did you get the information?
It's most probably Γ3 (gamma) - G in English. ('Γ' is the third letter in the Greek alphabet.)
Regards,

Hi Dave
I'm sorry, I can't help you any further. What you're asking is way outside my knowledge/experience.
Perhaps an accountant or an auditor could advise.

Re: Seeking Guidance on Managing Inherited Company Share
Hi Dave
Presumably your late father's company was audited? I suggest you contact the auditors for a copy of their report.
There is a website at https://www.infocredit.com.cy/Default.aspx that may have details of the company.

Re: Extreme nuisance in residential building.
Hi Alexios and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear of the noise issues that you and others in the apartments are experiencing. Have you taken legal advice on the matter? It may be possible to get an injunction - a court order preventing the bar from playing music loudly and stopping the general ...

Re: Is this calculation accurate?
Let's say the house is 250 sqm and it's priced at €300,000.
On the first 200sqm (which is 80% of the house) you pay 5% on 80% of the €300,000
On the remaining 50sqm. (which is 20% of the house) you pay 19% on 20% of the €300,000.

Re: Selling a property in Limassol
Hi virtualchrissywissy and welcome to the forum. Your mother-in-law and her brother need to appoint a lawyer in Cyprus to act as their PoAs.( They must not use a lawyer in London .) The lawyer will draw up the PoA & sent it to your MiL & brother. You MiL & brother will have to make an appointment th...

Re: Solar panels Z1 / Z3 zone
Hi nataliab and welcome to the forum. I can't answer your question and I suggest you visit the Paphos Town Planning Department to see if your erect solar panels on the land. Z1 and Z3 are agricultural zones and protected (you can't build dwellings on them.) But the panners may allow you to put solar...

Re: Non payment of communal fees
Hi Keith I suggest you contact BoC - they should pay fees from the date they took (repossessed?) the property. As for the others, you'll need a lawyer to get a court order instructing the Land Registry to place a charge on the properties owned by the debtors. (There's a new law in the pipeline that ...

Just to add t Pan's comment.
We had friends who lived on the Kamares development in Paphos. During the hunting season shotgun pellets occasionally showered their home.

Re: Withholding communal fees
Hi Brian This is more complex than I thought. As Pan suggested earlier, I suggest you seek legal advice. If there are roots in the pipework, clearing them out is only a temporary fix - they'll grow back. The damaged pipe needs to be replaced. I'm not sure what you mean by "a proxy can authorise any ...

Re: Legal advice
Hi Irini The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office publishes a list of English-speaking lawyers in Cyprus. You can start your search at In which country do you need a lawyer? . In Paphos, I suggest you get in contact with the Zambartas law firm . I know the firm's principals very well - 'L' ...
