Re: The Limitations Law (66(1) 2012)

Thanks Nigel

I think maybe we will do that. I assume this doesn't only apply to mortgages then.

The Limitations Law (66(1) 2012)

Hi Nigel Can I just ask if the new limitations law applies to any contract. We bought on a complex where there are issues with the pool liners that need replacing. The developer has written to us saying that they will put right any issues but have actually done nothing. When we write to them they si...

Regulations

Hi Nigel is there anywhere that you can get a copy of the Standard regulations ie the ones that need to be signed by the committee and registered with the land registry in word. I can only find a PDF version. Just want to have our own logo and complex name on the top? I assume these are the ones at ...

Position of president

Hi Nigel

Can you confirm that the position of president of a mangement committee doesn't give that person any extra powers. Also can the president nominate who he likes as chair of a meeting or does it have to be someone from within the committee?

Thanks

Ie if there were structural issues would they be responsible for repairing them or would that fall to the ...

Re: Management committee

Sorry Nigel, I know I said that this was the last question. Just one more. In reading the law I see that the director shall have an obligation , if requested by the owners of the units who have applied for registration , to appoint in writing a temporary committee. First of all who is the director (...

Re: Management committee

Thanks Nigel, this is very helpful. One final point. To establish our committee I assume we need to register with the land registry? Am I correct?

Re: Management committee

Thanks Nigel. We formed an owners association some two years ago. We have an elected committee. The problem we have is that the developer refuses to recognise us and in fact now fails to communicate with us in any way. We have requested meetings with them but they simply ignore us, not even giving u...

Management committee

My understanding from the law is that once a building is completed it must be registered with the land registry. Then regulations must be registered with the land registry. However, if no regulations are registered then the standard regulations apply. Standard Regulations specify that the first gener...
