IPT refund deadline

Hello, can you confirm whether there is a deadline, after obtaining your title deeds, within which time you can reclaim any IPT (over)paid by the developer on your behalf
thank you

Re: Changing communal property management company

So ... in your interpretation of the law ... does that mean in this example their postal votes counted as proxy votes? And if the 1000e is a constitutional change does that make it legal?

Re: Buildings Insurance for a complex

Thanks Nigel. My interpretation of that statement would be that the compulsary insurance would be for communal building areas and individual building insurance for each private apartment from the same insurer . That would then leave the individual owners to provide contents insurance for their own a...

Re: Buildings Insurance for a complex

"The whole of the property does need to be insured - the common/shared parts by the Management Committee - and the privately owned parts by their owners. Both the common/shared parts and the privately owned parts must be insured with the same insurance company. (There have been cases where different...

Re: Defaulting on a loan

Sorry about your situation but I would be wary of signing a POA for the reasons oulined in your message as it does not appear to guarantee that you are absolved of any losses going forward, it merely authorises your developer to sell at whatever price he wants (not at a price you want).

Re: Land Registry methods of payment

Thanks Nigel, thats interesting. Any idea if there would be a problem in getting a bankers draft for, say, 95% of estimated payment then topping up with cash?

Re: Land Registry methods of payment

Hi Andy

Thanks for that, I was told they accepted credit cards. Bankers draft woulkd be best but they are normally made for a specific amount and presumably the Land Registry wont give you the actual figure until you get there?

Land Registry methods of payment

Can anyone advise me whether the Larnaca Land Registry apply a surcharge for paying for title deeds transfer by credit card, and if so how much? Alternatively will they accept a cheque drawn on a local Cyprus bank without a bank card? Thanks

Re: Dreaded IPT

What is the maximum percentage IPT a developer can be charged by the Revenue? This is in circumstances where the developer has numerous developments so is at the top end of the scale.
