Re: Set Up of Management Committee
Thanks for the reply Nigel, we live in detached villas with our own pools etc ,the only shared item would be the sewage tank, which I could understand the need for a committee but the developer is responsible in theory for the system until we get our deeds. Although in practice its to much hassle to ...

Set Up of Management Committee
We live in a close of 18 detached villas, no sign of title deeds. We have all had a letter from Soteira Municipality saying we must set up a Management Committee forthwith to comply with the Immovable Property (Tenure, Registration & Valuation) Law (Cap.224) or else. Whilst the developer should be ...

Cyprus Will
Hi Nigel
When we bought our property in Cyprus, several years ago, we were unfortunate in using a firm of solicitors who have featured before in these pages.
We made a Cyprus Will at the same time, making our two sons executors, the solicitors inference was to have them also, which we did. Now we ...

Re: Buying a property, transfer tax question
It may also be worth taking into account the scenario of children's later marriage then divorce , could the ex-spouse sue for part of villa?
We didn't include our children for that reason, good job we didn't.

Hi Nigel
It would seem that the tax authorities arrive at 1980 values for IPT purposes by the "finger in the air" method or is there some rule of thumb we could use to assess our properties?
Many thanks

Re: Title Deeds
Morning Nigel
Not exactly the same theme but close, I have been told, although I find it hard to believe, that there is to be a 6 month window on fees when the deeds are issued. If you paid VAT then there will be no charge for the deeds, if you haven't paid VAT then you will get a 50% reduction in ...

Re: Title Deeds
I have got a feeling for our builders even 6-8 years will be quick , I would love to speed them up, the government are missing out on a potential fortune in fees.

Title Deeds
There are a number of companies offering a service to get title deeds issued, one estate agent wants 4k euros, solicitor 3k euros, all seems a bit excessive as it isn't guaranteed & money up front.
What is the best way to proceed to obtain our title deeds, our Villa is in Agia Thekla?
Many thanks
